BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Mar 23 - Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC suppliers cut their prices again this week dragged by customers' slow purchasing activities and the decrease in steel mills' EXW prices. The present mainstream prices of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS hover at RMB16,000-16,050/t (USD2,325-2,333/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi, and those of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from Yongjin Stainless stand at RMB16,050-16,100/t (USD2,333-2,340/t) D/P in warehouse Hangzhou, down by RMB200/t (USD29/t) respectively from last Friday. Insiders expect Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices to remain stable in the coming week on weak demand and high prices of steel mills.
A Wuxi-based distributor of 304 grade stainless CRC told Asian Metal that the price of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS stands at RMB16,000/t (USD2,325/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi with no concessions for the time being, down by RMB200/t (USD29/t) compared with that of last Friday. "As TTSS decreased the EXW prices of 304 grade stainless CRC by RMB100/t (USD15/t) on March 27th, we reduced the price by RMB200/t (USD29/t) this week to promote sales," explained the trader. However, his sales performance remains unsatisfactory at present under customers' wait-and-see attitudes. He just sold about 10t yesterday at RMB16,000/t (USD2,325/t) and last sold around 10t last Friday at RMB16,200/t (USD2,354/t). The trader intends to maintain the price unchanged and predicts that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would keep stable in the coming week on soft demand and high prices of steel mills.
Based on the regular sales volume of around 2,000tpm, the company sold about 2,000t in February and anticipates a stable sales amount this month. Having an inventory of about 800t in hand now, down from around 1,000t last month, they sold around 20,000t in 2022 and about 3,000t in the first two months of this year.

"We also followed other trader to cut the price by RMB200/t (USD29/t) this week on weak demand and the decrease in steel mills' EXW prices," said the trader, adding that customers only purchase materials upon orders at the moment due to the continuous price decrease these days. According to him, he just sold about 10t on Tuesday at RMB16,100/t (USD2,340/t) and last sold around 10t last Friday at RMB16,300/t (USD2,369/t). The trader plans to keep the price unchanged and predicts that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would remain stable in the coming week on weak demand and high prices of steel mills.
