BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Mar 23 - Upon the firm offers from Chinese suppliers, the current mainstream import prices of silicon metal 3-3-03 in Japan firmly stand at USD2,460-2,560/t CIF Japan, unchanged from late last week. Insiders predict the mainstream import prices of silicon metal 3-3-03 in Japan would keep firm this week.
A trader in Japan disclosed that the current offer for silicon metal 3-3-03 from a regular Chinese supplier stands at USD2,500/t CIF Japan with the discount of USD20/t at most for firm bids, in line with the supplier's price early last week. "Most suppliers hold prices stable this week upon the stabilized prices in China, and I last purchased 60t at USD2,500/t early last week, and I'm going to join a tender for 60t this week," revealed the trader on Tuesday. He predicts the mainstream import prices of silicon metal 3-3-03 in Japan would go steady this week upon the stabilized prices from Chinese suppliers.
Based on a regular monthly trading volume of 300t of silicon metal, the trader expects to sell around 200t in March, down by 100t from last month, keeping around 100t in stock.
