BEIJING (Asian Metal) 28 Mar 23 - Restricted by dropping prices, the Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min market sees strong watchful sentiments with limited deals concluded. Currently, mainstream prices of Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min stand at RMB72,500-73,500/t (USD10,537-10,682/t) delivered D/A 180 days, down by about RMB500/t (USD72.67/t) from late last week. Given weak end demand, insiders predict that mainstream prices of Chinese antimony trioxide 99.8%min would continue to show a downward trend in the coming week.
A producer in South China said, "With prices dropping, downstream consumers prefer to wait on the sidelines and the market sees inactive deals. We maintain make-to-order production at present and expect an output of around 200t in March, compared with our normal monthly production of around 400t." The producer now quotes RMB73,000/t (USD10,610/t) delivered D/A 180 days for antimony trioxide 99.5%min, but market transactions are inactive and consumers make only hand-to-mouth purchases. So far this week the producer made no sales yet at RMB73,000/t (USD10,610/t) and considers giving a discount of RMB500/t (USD72.67/t) to regular clients, but downstream consumers are still cautious in buying. Late last week he sold about 20t at RMB73,000/t (USD10,610/t). Given sluggish market deals, the source believes that mainstream prices of Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would still show a downward trend on the whole in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 5,000t of antimony trioxide 99.5%min, the producer totally produced about 3,000t of the material in 2022 and expects to produce around 200t this month, unchanged MOM. He holds about 200t of stocks now, compared with no stocks in the same period of last month.

But the market sees inactive deals. Our current weekly sales are only around 50t, compared with regular weekly sales of up to 100t."
