Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min export prices stable

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Mar 23 - Given inactive market and firm domestic prices, the current mainstream export prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min 10-50mm stand unchanged at USD1,520-1,550/t EX-VAT FOB China from mid this week. Insiders hold the view that the mainstream export prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min would keep steady in the coming week supported by firm domestic prices.
A trader in Henan mentioned that they targeted to export ferrosilicon 72%min 10-50mm at prices no less than USD1,520/t Ex-VAT FOB China from early this week. "We didn't close any deal today and last sold 100t at USD1,470/t early this week with shipment by the end of April", noted the trader, adding that they received two to three inquiries in the past two weeks while they received two or three inquiries weekly before mid of March. They believe that the mainstream export prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min would remain stable in the following week in view of weak demand from the overseas and firm domestic prices.
Based on the regular monthly export volume of 500t, the trader expects to export about 200t in March, in line with last month. They hold no inventory at the moment.
Another trader in Henan disclosed, "We would like to export ferrosilicon 75%min 10-50mm at USD1,550/t Ex-VAT FOB China with a concession as much as USD10/t today and we stuck to this price from mid this week". They didn't close any deal in the past two weeks and last sold 50t at USD1,540/t two weeks ago, while the trader further revealed that they closed two deals weekly before mid of March. They predict that the mainstream export prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min would stay flat in the coming week given firm domestic prices and sluggish demand.
The trader, with a typical monthly export volume of 500t, predicts to export around 200t in March, up by 100t from the previous month for weak demand in February. They don't have stock currently.
