Ningxia Jianlong Special Steel restarts the production of HR strip

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Mar 23 - As the major HR strip producer in Northwest China, Ningxia Jianlong Special Steel Co. (Ningxia Jianlong Special Steel) resumed the production on March 23rd and might produce about 40,000t of HR strip this month.
"We restarted the production of HR strip last week after the suspension last October," said a source of the company, who told they might produce about 40,000t of HR strip in March. Besides, they have no spot materials in hand at present and customers need to place orders in advance.
Located in Shizuishan, Ningxia and based on one HR strip production line of 850mm rolling mill and the annual production capacity of about two million tonnes, the company produces HR strip with the width of 350-520mm and thickness of 1.2-6.5mm. Formally launching the production of HR strip on January 26th, 2022, it witnessed a total output of about 500,000t last year.
The mainstream prices of HR strip Q195 (232-355)mm*2.5mm*C from Tangshan Delong Steel hovered at about RMB4,160/t (USD605/t) D/P in warehouse Tangshan last Friday, down by RMB10/t (USD1.45/t) from last Thursday. Insiders predict that Chinese HR strip prices would go down further in the coming week on soft demand.
