BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Mar 23 - Given the overall soft prices and the slack demand from overseas market, Chinese antimony trioxide export market sees limited deals, with mainstream export prices for antimony trioxide 99.5%min now standing at USD10,600-10,800/t FOB China, down slightly by USD100/t from late last week. In light of the quiet export market, insiders believe that export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would remain soft on the whole in the coming week.
An exporter in South China said, "We now quote antimony trioxide 99.5%min at USD10,700/t CIF China and we refuse to accept lower prices for the moment due to exchange rate fluctuation. We exported about 20t at USD10,700/t this week as the export market turned inactive, while we sold 20t at USD10,800/t late last week". The exporter added that consumers just keep purchasing from hand to mouth amid slack demand as the overall price of antimony trioxide softens. Given the strong wait-and-see sentiment, they expect to export just about 100t this week, down from about 200t last week. Restricted by the weak demand from end users, the exporter believes that export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would remain soft on the whole in the coming week.
With a regular monthly export volume of 500t of antimony trioxide 99.5%min, they expect to export around 500t in March, compared with about 600t in February. They exported nearly 6,000t in total last year and now hold inventory of around 200t, the same as a month ago.
Another exporter in South China said, "We now quote antimony trioxide 99.5%min at USD10,800/t FOB China and would consider a concession of up to USD50/t for firm orders. We exported about 20t at USD10,750/t this week while we exported about 20t at USD10,800/t late last week". The exporter added that as Chinese antimony trioxide export market turns inactive and the domestic price keeps moving down, overseas buyers generally take a wait-and-see attitude. They expect to export just around 300t this month, compared with 400t last month, due to the current slack export market.
