Alufluor reduces aluminum fluoride production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Mar 23 - Alufluor AB, the only aluminum fluoride producer in Sweden, cut production by around 25% from early this month and might produce 1,500t in March, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We reduced production by 25% from early this month and might produce 1,500t this month," said the source, who produced close to 2,000t last month and holds around 2,000t in stock now. As the demand in Europe weakened, they cut production.
With the production capacity of 24,000tpy, they produced around 20,000t in 2022 and target around 18,000t in 2023, focusing on sales in Europe.
Present mainstream export prices for aluminum fluoride 61%min in Europe keep at USD1,500-1,600/t delivered, steady from one week ago. For the sluggish aluminum market and high energy cost, many aluminum smelters in Europe cut production, leading to weak demand.
