BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Mar 23 - Upon the high production cost, most suppliers hold prices firm this week, and the current mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min hover at RMB36,000-36,500/t (USD5,239-5,311/t) delivered D/A 180 days from early last week. Given the sluggish demand while firm offers, insiders predict the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would go steady next week.
A producer in South China revealed that his current offer for fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min stands at RMB36,500/t (USD5,311/t) delivered with the discount of RMB300/t (USD44/t) at most for firm bids, and he sold 20t at RMB36,200/t (USD5,268/t) on Thursday, and he insisted on the same price early last week. "My current production cost hovers at high as RMB34,500-35,000/t (USD5,020-5,093/t) EXW D/P upon the high prices of zircon sand, and I couldn't move prices down despite of the sluggish demand, and I think the price of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would keep stable next week," disclosed the producer on Thursday.
The producer, based on an annual production capacity of about 5,400t for fused zirconia, plans to produce about 400t in March, unchanged from last month, holding around 100t in stock.
A consumer in North China revealed that he bought 30t of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min at RMB36,000/t (USD5,239/t) delivered yesterday, and the supplier insisted on the same price early last week. "Most suppliers hold prices firm stable upon the upward price trend of zircon sand, while my purchase amount would cut by around 70% in March against the regular monthly level in last Q1," revealed the consumer on Thursday.
