Huilian Aluminum resumes secondary aluminum alloy production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Mar 23 - Jiangsu Huilian Aluminum Co., Ltd., one major secondary aluminum alloy producer in East China, resumed production on March 6 and estimates an output of about 2,000t in March.
"Our company halted production for equipment maintenance after the Spring Festival holiday, and resumed production on March 6 when we completed maintenance. We expect to produce nearly 2,000t this month, compared to no output in February", a source from the company said, and added that they have one furnace unit composed of one 30-ton top furnace and one 25-ton bottom furnace in operation at present.
The company holds an annual production capacity of 100,000t and produced around 24,200t in 2022, having about 900t in stock now.
On Wednesday, the mainstream prices of aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 in East China hovered at RMB18,400-18,600/t (USD2,687-2,717/t) delivered D/P, stable from Tuesday. Given the current sluggish demand, insiders believe that the prevailing prices of Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 would go down in the coming week.
