BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Mar 23 - Chinese ferrodysprosium 80% suppliers lifted prices over the past two days and would rather to lose orders than make concession on prices. Therefore, the current Chinese ferrodysprosium 80% mainstream prices rose to RMB1,930-1,960/kg (USD280-285/kg) T/T 30 days, up by around RMB10/kg (USD1.5/kg) from two days ago. As suppliers refuse to lower prices, insiders forecasted that the Chinese ferrodysprosium 80% mainstream prices would show firm trend in the coming week.
A consumer in North China noted that their regular suppliers quote about RMB1,970/kg (USD286/kg) EXW T/T 30 days for ferrodysprosium 80% to them at present. Based on their experience, they couldn't buy at prices below RMB1,960/kg (USD285/kg) now, while they could buy at around RMB1,950/kg (USD283/kg) two days ago. "I concluded my latest procurement two days ago, when I bought one ton at around RMB1,950/kg (USD283/kg)," said the consumer, who has no plan to purchase again in the coming week. They couldn't bargain for better prices from suppliers and forecasted that the Chinese ferrodysprosium 80% mainstream prices would continue hovering at current levels in the upcoming week.
The producer, with an annual consumption capacity of 60t of ferrodysprosium 80%, expects to produce around three tons this month, without much change MoM. They consumed about nine tons so far this year, compared with approximately 22t in 2022. They hold an inventory of around three tons at the moment, in line with late February.
Another consumer in North China claimed that his regular suppliers lift ferrodysprosium 80% quotation to about RMB1,940/kg (USD282/kg) EXW T/T 30 days to him at present. According to his experience, he could buy at around RMB1,930/kg (USD280/kg) now, while he could replenish stocks at around RMB1,900/kg (USD276/kg) early this week, when he last bought two tons at around RMB1,900/kg (USD276/kg).
