Chinese PrNd oxide prices edge up

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Mar 23 - Chinese PrNd oxide suppliers complained about low profits and increased prices over the past two days. Therefore, the current Chinese PrNd oxide mainstream prices edged up to RMB560,000-570,000/t (USD81,357-82,810/t) EXW D/P, with an increase of around RMB5,000/t (USD726/t) from two days ago. Insiders hold back from selling and intend to lift prices further, insiders forecasted that the Chinese PrNd oxide mainstream prices would go up further in the upcoming week.
A producer in South China noted that he quotes around RMB570,000/t (USD82,810/t) EXW D/P for PrNd oxide and considers selling at around RMB565,000/t (USD82,083/t) at present, while he had intention to sell at around RMB555,000/t (USD80,630/t) two days ago. "I last sold 10t of PrNd oxide at around RMB563,000/t (USD81,793/t) early last week," said the producer, who complained with their thin margins and intend lift prices further. He forecasted that the Chinese PrNd oxide mainstream prices would rise further in the forthcoming week as suppliers continue increasing prices.
With an annual production capacity of 1,560t of PrNd oxide, the producer expects an output of around 110t in March, without much change MoM. He produced approximately 300t so far in 2023, compared with about 1,210t in 2022. He holds an inventory of around 50t at present, up by 20t MoM.
Another producer in South China claimed that he lifts PrNd oxide quotation to about RMB565,000/t (USD82,083/t) EXW D/P and has intention to sell at around RMB560,000/t (USD81,357/t) now, while he considered selling at about RMB555,000/t (USD80,630/t) two days ago. He concluded his latest sale last Friday, when he sold two tons at around RMB560,000/t (USD81,357/t). "I prefer to hold stocks if my clients couldn't accept my prices," said the producer, who predicted that the Chinese PrNd oxide mainstream prices would move up by around RMB10,000/t (USD1,453/t) in the forthcoming week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 1,800t of PrNd oxide, produced approximately 1,800t and 250t respectively in 2022 and so far in 2023. He expects an output of around 80t this month, a decline of 20t MoM. He has about 50t of stocks now, in line with late February.
