Chinese tin solder market saw more supply

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Mar 23 - As market demand recovered slowly, most suppliers of tin solder increased their production since this month and held their TCs unmoved. The current mainstream TCs of Chinese tin solder Sn 99.3%min Cu 0.7%max stand at RMB7-7.5/kg (USD1.0-1.08/kg) EXW D/P, unchanged for nearly two weeks. Due to recovery of market demand, insiders believe that the supply would increase gradually in the next month.
"As long as the prices of tin ingot remained stable, we can steadily increase production. Therefore, although the market demand kept weak during the past week, we increased our production this month," a producer in Guangdong reported. They sold about 1t of tin solder Sn 99.3%min Cu 0.7%max at TC of RMB7/kg (USD1.0/kg) EXW D/P today with no more bargaining, which is the only deal so far this week. They disclosed that most of their clients purchased from hand to mouth. However, the producer predicts that the mainstream TC of Chinese tin solder keep stable and the supply would increase next month.
Based on an annual production capacity of 1,500t. They plan to produce 30t this month, up by 5t from last month, holding an inventory of 2t now.
Another producer in Jiangsu reported, "We expanded the production this month despite that our clients purchased with cautious views". They firmed their TC at RMB7/kg (USD1.0/kg) EXW D/P for tin solder Sn 99.3%min Cu 0.7%max and refused any lower price during the past half month. They could sell about 1-2t every day at such price. They stated that the prices of raw materials tend to be stable since this week and the market demand recovered gradually. So, they forecast that the mainstream TC of Chinese tin solder would keep firm and the production might climb further in the upcoming month.
