Chinese HC ferrochrome prices flat

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Mar 23 – Most suppliers hold watchful attitudes and keep their prices unchanged within this week. Currently, the mainstream prices for Chinese HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max Si5%max stand at RMB9,000-9,200/t (USD1,307-1,336/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from early this week. Insiders predict the mainstream prices would keep flat within this week because most suppliers prefer to wait for the purchase prices of steel mills.
A producer from South China mentioned, "We quote RMB9,400/t (USD1,365/t) EXW D/P for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max Si5%max with no concession at the moment, in line with early this week". They received an inquiry this week, but the customer refused to purchase at this price and would wait for the purchase prices of steel mills. They last sold around 100t at RMB9,400/t (USD1,365/t) EXW D/P late last week. They have no plan to change their price and predict the mainstream prices would keep unchanged within this week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 180,000t of HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max, predicts to produce around 13,000t in March, unchanged from last month. They produced around 156,000t in 2022, and produced around 26,000t so far in 2023. They have no stock at the moment.
A consumer from South China disclosed, "We received the quotation at RMB9,400/t (USD1,365/t) delivered D/P for HC ferrochrome Cr58%min C8%max Si1%max with the delivery freight of RMB100/t (USD14.52/t) at present, unchanged from early this week". They purchased around 10t at RMB9,400/t (USD1,365/t) delivered D/P early this week. They would purchase another 10t next week. They predict the mainstream prices would keep unchanged within this week but might move down in the following week.
