Sisecam Genel Merkezi's erbium oxide consumption declines

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Mar 23 - Sisecam Genel Merkezi, a major erbium oxide 99.5%min consumer in Turkey, consumed approximately 15t of erbium oxide 99.5%min in 2022, a decline of about seven tons YoY, according to a source from the company.
"As some of our clients substituted other cheaper materials for erbium oxide 99.5%min in order to reduce production costs, we only consumed only about 15t of erbium oxide 99.5%min in 2022, compared with about 22t in 2021," said the source.
Founded in 1934, Sisecam Genel Merkezi consumes erbium oxide 99.5%min as an additive in the production of glass for architectural, energy and home appliance industries and owns an annual production capacity of 120t of erbium oxide 99.5%min. The company expects to produce around one ton in March, without much change MoM. It holds an inventory of around one and a half tons now, down by one ton MoM.
The current erbium oxide 99.5%min mainstream import prices in Turkey stay at USD39-40/kg CIF Turkey, in line with one week ago.
