Linzhou Hexin Casting increases S.G. cast iron output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Mar 23 - As one of major S.G. cast iron producers in Henan, Linzhou Hexin Casting Co. (Linzhou Hexin Casting) plans to produce around 48,000t of S.G. cast iron in March, up from 10,000t in February.
"We run our blast furnaces with full capacity this month and the output would increase by about 38,000t MoM," said a source from the company, adding that they restarted the blast furnace in late February after the suspension for about two months, expecting demand recovery from foundries. However, the demand failed to pick up as expected.
Linzhou Hexin Casting owns an annual production capacity of 828,000t for S.G. cast iron. It produced approximately 345,000t of the material in 2022 and nearly 10,000t in the first two months of this year. Currently it has an inventory of almost 12,000t.
On Tuesday, the mainstream prices of S.G. cast iron Q10 in Henan stood at RMB3,670-3,700/t (USD534-538/t) EXW D/P, down by RMB30/t (USD4/t) from one week ago. Upon weak demand from foundries and rising stocks from producers, S.G. cast iron prices would edge down further in the coming week.
