Chinese PrNd mischmetal prices decline

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Mar 23 - As most producers lowered their prices today because of the weak demand and their pessimistic attitudes, the current mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal 99%min, Pr 25±2% max, Nd 75±2% max, Fe 0.3%max, C 0.05%max stand at RMB655,000-665,000/t (USD95,141-96,594/t) EXW T/T 30 days, down by RMB5,000/t (USD726/t) from last Friday. Insiders believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal would go down further this week as most producers remain pessimistic about the market.
A producer in North China disclosed, "We presently offer RMB660,000/t (USD95,868/t) EXW D/P for PrNd mischmetal today and could possibly sell at the price as low as RMB655,000/t (USD95,141/t)". While the producer could not accept any prices lower than RMB660,000/t (USD95,868/t) last Friday. Their last deal dated back to last Thursday when they sold about 5t at RMB670,000/t (USD97,320/t). Due to the weak demand, the producer predicts that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal would keep going down to RMB610,000/t (USD88,605/t) by the end of this week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 1,500t, predicts to produce around 40t in March for weak demand, while they produced 55t last month. They have an inventory of nearly 20t at present.
Another producer in North China revealed that they currently offer RMB655,000/t (USD95,141/t) EXW D/P for PrNd mischmetal and they could not accept prices under RMB650,000/t (USD94,415/t). "We offered RMB665,000/t (USD96,594/t) last Friday and we refused lower prices than RMB660,000/t (USD95,868/t) last Friday. We sold about 3t at RMB660,000/t (USD95,868/t) last Thursday", the producer mentioned. Because of the weak demand, the producer expects that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal would decline further to RMB600,000/t (USD87,152/t) by the end of this week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 2,400t, estimates to produce nearly 50t this month, on par with last month. They have an inventory of 2t now.
