BEIJING (Asian Metal) 20 Mar 23 – Considering the weak demand from the end market from early this month, most Chinese dead burned magnesia suppliers prefer to reduce their production rather than lower prices
Another producer in Yingkou revealed, "We halved our production to around 1,000t this month as we closed no deal after we last sold about 100t at RMB1,150/t (USD/t) EXW D/A 180 days early last week". They offered RMB1,200/t (USD175/t) EXW D/A 180 days for dead burned magnesia MgO 90%min, SiO2 5 . 5%max, CaO 2%max, B . D . 3.18min, 15-150mm and could accept concessions no more than RMB50/t (USD7/t) since early this week. The producer, with an annual production capacity of 120,000t of dead burned magnesia, predicts to produce nearly 1,000t in March, compared with approximately 2,000t last month. They have an inventory of approximately 1,500t at present.
Another producer from Dashiqiao stated, "We suspended from early this month due to the sluggish demand from the downstream market and we received no inquiries after we last sold nearly 200t at RMB1,150/t (USD167/t) EXW D/A 180 days around one week ago". The producer quoted RMB1,150/t (USD167/t) EXW D/A 180 days and would accept no concessions for dead burned magnesia MgO 90%min, SiO2 4 . 5%max, CaO 2 . 5%max, B . D . 3 . 12min, 3-15mm, unchanged from early this week . The producer stated that the prices of raw materials remain high while the market stays sluggish, so they predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese dead burned magnesia would keep unchanged in the coming week.
