BEIJING (Asian Metal) 20 Mar 23 - Upon the increased import cost, the current mainstream prices of Australian zircon sand 66%min in China edged up by RMB300/t (USD43/t) to RMB17,000-17,500/t (USD2,472-2,545/t) from early last week
A consumer in Henan disclosed that he bought 120t of Iluka Australian zircon sand 66%min at RMB17,600/t (USD2,560/t) delivered D/A 180 days last Friday, while the supplier could accept at low as RMB17,300/t (USD2,516/t) early last week. "As Iluka claimed to raise export prices to China by USD50/t this week for Q2 against Q1, the supplier increased prices according," revealed the consumer last Friday . He also mentioned that his consumption only accounts for about half of his regular level in March dragged by the gloomy demand of his ending products, and he predicts the mainstream prices of Australian zircon sand 66%min in China would hardly to go up further and keep stable next week.
With an annual consumption capacity of 5,000t of Australian-origin zircon sand 66%min, the consumer expects to consume about 200t in March, unchanged from last month, keeping around 100t in stock.
Another consumer in Hubei disclosed that he purchased 60t of Tronox Australian zircon sand 66%min at RMB17,200/t (USD2,501/t) delivered D/A 180 days covered the freight of RMB100/t (USD14) last Friday, while the supplier gave him as low as RMB17,000/t (USD2,472/t) early last week.
