A producer in North China disclosed on Thursday that due to decreasing prices of zinc ingot, they would accept prices as low as RMB20,500/t (USD2,975/t) EXW to sell zinc oxide today, while they refused to sell at prices lower than RMB20,700/t (USD3,004/t) on Wednesday. "We have sold 10t of zinc oxide at RMB20,500/t (USD2,975/t) EXW today, compared to 20t at RMB20,700/t (USD3,004/t) EXW on Wednesday", the producer said, and added that consumers stay defensive on the continuously decreasing prices of zinc ingot now . Therefore, the producer expects the mainstream prices of Chinese zinc oxide to go down further in the forthcoming week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 10,000t of zinc oxide, produced about 4,900t in 2022 and around 550t in February 2023. They predict an output of nearly 600t in March, holding about 200t in stock now.
A producer in East China revealed that they marked down their zinc oxide price according to the declining prices of zinc ingot on Thursday. "We quote RMB20,500/t (USD2,975/t) EXW for zinc oxide today with a discount of RMB100/t (USD15/t) for regular customers, while we targeted at RMB20,700/t (USD3,004/t) EXW yesterday. We just sold 100t at RMB20,400/t (USD2,960/t) today and 15t at RMB20,700/t (USD3,004/t) yesterday", the producer said on Thursday . Given declining prices of zinc ingot and wait-and-see attitudes from consumers currently, the producer believes that the prevailing prices of Chinese zinc oxide would glide down in the following week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 30,000t of zinc oxide, produced about 10,400t in 2022 and holds around 100t in stock at present. Their output would reach 1,000t in March, higher than about 600t in February.
