Chinese flake graphite prices stable

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Mar 23 – Most Chinese flake graphite producers hold the prices stable today to maintain sales this week even though they have no inventory pressure now. The current mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite -194, C 94%min, Volatile 1.2%max stand stable at RMB4,600-4,800/t (USD666-695/t) EXW D/A 180 days from early this week. As most producers intend to stick to their current prices, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite would stay steady in the following week.
A producer in Heilongjiang disclosed, "We kept the offer for flake graphite -194, C 94%min, Volatile 1.2%max unchanged at RMB4,700/t (USD681/t) EXW D/P and refused any lower price since early this week". The producer offered RMB4800/t (USD695/t) to a client who wanted to purchase 500t yesterday and they believe that they would close the deal at RMB4,700/t (USD681/t) early next week, adding that they last sold around 300t at RMB4,700/t (USD681/t) in the middle of this week. They prefer to keep their price to guarantee stable sales and believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite -194 would remain stable in the coming week.
With a production capacity of 100,000tpy, they expect to produce about 8,000t in March, unchanged MoM. They have an inventory of approximately 4,000t now.
