Chinese manganese dioxide alkaline prices stay unchanged

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 March 23 - Considering the stable demand, most manganese dioxide alkaline producers in China hold their prices unchanged. Hence, the current mainstream prices of Chinese manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min hover at RMB17,000-17,300/t (USD2,461-2,504/t) EXW D/P, in line with early this week. Given the stable downstream demand and no inventory pressure, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min would stay firm next week.
A producer in South China disclosed that their current quotation for manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min remains stable at RMB17,300/t (USD2,504/t) EXW D/P and they could consider the concession as much as RMB17,200/t (USD2,490/t), unchanged from the beginning of this week. The producer failed to receive a new order today and last sold 300t at 17,300/t (USD2,504/t) in late February. As the downstream clients have no intention to increase their purchase volumes, the producer has no intention to change their price and believes that the prevailing prices of Chinese manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min would remain steady next week.
The producer, based on the annual production capacity of 120,000t of manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min, would like to produce approximately 5,000t in March, on par with last month. The producer holds no stock at the moment.
Another producer in South China revealed, "We keep our quotation unchanged at RMB17,300/t (USD2,504/t) EXW D/P for manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min and we could consider the price as low as RMB17,100/t (USD2,475/t), unchanged from the beginning of this week". The producer received no inquiry today and last sold 200t at RMB17,200/t (USD2,490/t) in the middle of February. Because of the high production costs and no inventory pressure despite the stable demand, the producer plans to maintain their current price and believes that the prevailing prices of Chinese manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min would stay firm in the following week.
