BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Mar 23 - Given slightly dropping prices in China, overseas buyers are cautious in making purchases, so this week the Chinese tungsten carbide powder export market sees inactive deals. Current prevailing export prices for Chinese tungsten carbide powder 99.8%min 2.5-7.0μm stand at USD39.3-40.3/kg FOB China, slightly down by around USD0.5/kg from early this week. But in view of firm costs, exporters intend to keep prices firm, and insiders believe that export prices for Chinese tungsten carbide powder 99.8%min 2.5-7.0μm would level off in the coming week.
An exporter in South China said, "We quote tungsten carbide powder 99.8%min 2.5-7.0μm at USD39.5/kg FOB China now and can give a discount of USD0.2/kg to clients with real intention to buy. But we made no sales over the recent two days and last exported around 20t at USD39.5/kg early this week." According to the exporter, owing to slightly dropping prices inside China, overseas buyers prefer to wait on the sidelines this week, so the Chinese tungsten carbide powder 99.8%min 2.5-7.0μm export market sees limited deals. But as the USD exchange rate stay at a relatively low level and Chinese raw material suppliers intend to keep prices firm, suppliers bear firm costs, so the exporter believes that export prices for Chinese tungsten carbide powder 99.8%min 2.5-7.0μm would stay firm in the coming week.
With a regular monthly export volume of 50t of tungsten carbide powder 99.8%min 2.5-7.0μm, the trader expects to export about 40t in March, on par with last month. He exported about 600t in total in 2022 and holds inventory of around 50t now, unchanged from a month ago.
