Chinese PrNd mischmetal prices go down

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Mar 23 - Most suppliers lowered their prices today because of the weak demand from the end market and pessimistic attitudes, so the current mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal 99%min, Pr 25±2% max, Nd 75±2% max, Fe 0.3%max, C 0.05%max stand at RMB670,000-680,000/t (USD97,462-98,916/t) EXW D/P, down by RMB30,000/t (USD4,364/t) from yesterday. Insiders believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal 99%min would decline further in the following week as most suppliers stay downbeat about the market.
A producer in Southeast China disclosed, "We presently offer RMB685,000/t (USD99,644/t) EXW D/P for PrNd mischmetal 99%min, Pr 25±2% , Nd 75±2% , Fe 0.3% max, C 0.03% max today and could possibly sell at the price as low as RMB680,000/t (USD98,916/t)". While the producer could not accept any prices lower than RMB690,000/t (USD100,371/t) yesterday and sold about 2t at RMB690,000/t (USD100,371/t) then. Discouraged by the weak demand, the producer would lower the price further because they predict the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal would keep going down in the following week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 3,000t, predicts to produce around 200t in March, in line with February. They have an inventory of nearly 25t at present.
A trader in North China revealed that they currently offer RMB670,000/t (USD97,462/t) EXW D/P for PrNd mischmetal 99%min, Pr 25±2% , Nd 75±2% , Fe 0.3%max, C 0.05%max and they could not sell at prices under RMB665,000/t (USD96,734/t). "We didn't have any inquiries or deals today. We sold about 2t at RMB690,000/t (USD100,371/t) yesterday, when we refused any lower prices", the trader mentioned. Because of the weak demand, the trader expects that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal would decline further in the following week and they would lower their price to promote sales .
The trader with an regular monthly trading volume of 200t , estimates to sell nearly 200t this month, on par with February. They do not have inventory now.
