Kaifeng Carbon increases graphite electrode production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Mar 23 - Kaifeng Carbon Co., a major graphite electrode producer in Henan of China, would produce around 5,000t in March, up from around 4,000t last month, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We might produce 5,000t this month, up from around 4,000t last month," said the source, adding that they hold close to 10,000t of stock now.
With two production lines and the total production capacity of 100,000tpy, they produced around 50,000t in 2022 and target around 60,000t in 2023.
Current mainstream prices for UHP graphite electrode D600mm keep at RMB21,700-22,700/t (USD3,144-3,288/t) EXW in China, stable from early this week. Despite the intention to raise offers, prices remain flat now for the weak demand.
