Juhe Silicon Alloys decreases silicomanganese production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Mar 23 - As one of the major producers of silicomanganese Mn 65%min, Si 17%max, P 0.25%max, S 0.08%max in China, Ningxia Juhe Silicon Alloys Co. plans to cut their production to 10,000t in March, a source from this company revealed to Asian Metal.
The producer disclosed, "We would like to decrease our production of silicomanganese to 10,000t in March as the current market runs slow and our inventory level increased in February". They produced nearly 15,000t of silicomanganese in February. The producer holds 5 furnaces of 33,000kVA and opens 2 furnaces at the moment.
The producer, based on an annual production capacity of 400,000t of silicomanganese, holds around 15,000t of stocks at present. They plan to keep the production level of 10,000t in April and May.
Although the current market runs slow, the majority of silicomanganese producers keep their prices unchanged supported by the high production costs. Currently, the prevailing prices of Chinese silicomanganese Mn 65%min, Si 17%max, P 0.25%max, S 0.08%max stands at RMB7,150-7,350/t (USD1,040-1,069/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from the end of last week. Given the soft demand and the decreased manganese ore prices, insiders believe that the prevailing prices of silicomanganese might decrease slightly in the following weeks.
