Chinese HC ferrochrome prices unchanged

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Mar 23 – Most suppliers hold watchful attitudes and prefer to wait for the purchase prices of steel mills. Currently, the mainstream prices for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max stand at RMB9,100-9,300/t (USD1,320-1,347/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from early this week
A producer from North China mentioned, "We offer RMB9,200/t (USD1,332/t) EXW D/P for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max and could accept the price as low as RMB9,100/t (USD1,318/t) EXW D/P at present, unchanged from early this week". They received an inquiry this week but the customer refused to purchase because the customers hold watchful attitudes and predict the mainstream prices might decrease in the coming week. They last sold around 100t at RMB9,100/t (USD1,318/t) EXW D/P late last week . They have no intention to decrease their price due to the high prices of chrome ore, and they predict the mainstream prices would keep flat in the following week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 80,000t of HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max, predicts to produce around 4,100t in March, unchanged from last month. They produced around 41,800t in 2022 and around 4,100t so far in 2023 . They hold no stock at present.
A producer from North China disclosed, "We quote RMB9,400/t (USD1,361/t) delivered D/A 180 days for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max with no concession at present, unchanged from early this week". They did not conclude any deal today and last sold around 30t at RMB9,400/t (USD1,361/t) early this week . They predict the purchase prices of steel mills would keep unchanged in April, and they have no plan to change their price and predict the mainstream prices would keep flat in the coming week.
