Daye Nonferrous Metals to overhaul production equipment for crude nickel sulfate

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Mar 23 - Daye Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., a major crude nickel sulfate producer in Central China, plans to conduct maintenance on its crude nickel sulfate production equipment at the end of March and expects to produce about 150t of crude nickel sulfate during the month.
"We plan to conduct equipment maintenance at the end of March for an expected period of four months. We expect to produce about 150t of crude nickel sulfate in March, higher than the figure of about 100t in February," a source from the company revealed, adding that their output in April might decline to around 60t.
With an annual production capacity of 3,000t of nickel sulfate, the company produced about 1,800t of the material in 2022, holding no stocks of crude nickel sulfate at the moment.
Mainstream prices of Chinese battery grade nickel sulfate Ni22%min Co0.4max stood at RMB36,500-37,500/t (USD5,308-5,453/t) delivered D/A this Tuesday, down by RMB800/t (USD116/t) from this Monday. As orders from downstream customers are few and consumers force down their purchasing prices continuously, insiders predict that mainstream prices of Chinese nickel sulfate would go down further in the coming week.
