BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Mar 23 - Chinese antimony trioxide exporters hold offers unmoved this week supported by the firm price in the domestic market. However, the export market sees light trading as overseas consumers just keep purchasing from hand to mouth. Mainstream export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min now stay unchanged from late last week at USD10,800-11,000/t FOB China. As the demand remains slack and antimony trioxide price moves down in China, the spot market sees inactive purchases amid strong wait-and-see sentiment. Therefore, insiders believe that export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would soften on the whole in the coming week.
An exporter in South China said, "We now quote antimony trioxide 99.5%min at USD11,000/t FOB China and for firm orders we could consider USD10,900/t, at which we exported about 20t this week, unchanged from late last week. Export market movements keep slow on the whole during the week". The exporter explained that consumers take a strong wait-and-see attitude due to the overall slack demand. They received 2-3 enquiries this week and could consider selling at USD10,900/t FOB China, but they failed to close any deals as consumers preferred to wait and see. Given that U.S. dollar weakens, they have to hold their offers unmoved to avoid risks. However, considering the soft demand for spot material, they believe that export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide would remain flat in the coming week.
With a regular export volume of 500tpm of antimony trioxide 99.5%min, they expect to export about 300t in March, on par with February. They exported about 5,500t in total last year, and now hold no stock in hand, the same as a month ago.
Another exporter in South China, "Our current offer for antimony trioxide 99.5%min is USD10,900/t FOB China but we didn't get any enquiry this week yet, and for firm orders from regular clients, we would consider USD10,800/t, unchanged from early this week. There was no deal closed this week and we last exported about 20t at USD10,900/t early last week". The exporter claimed that overall market movements remain slow and consumers prefer to wait and see, so they didn't get any enquiries this week, while normally there would be enquiries every week.
