Ningbo Changjiang Energy to increase battery grade nickel sulfate production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Mar 23 - Ningbo Changjiang Energy Technology Co., Ltd., one major battery grade nickel sulfate producer in East China, predicts to produce about 1,800t in March with all their production equipment in operation.
"We run all the production equipment this month compared to only half of it in February. Our output would increase to about 1,800t in March, partially due to new OEM orders we received", a source from the company said, and added that they only produced about 1,350t in February.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of about 55,000t of nickel sulfate, produced almost 29,500t in 2022. They hold no stock now, because they only produce nickel sulfate liquid.
On Tuesday, the mainstream prices of Chinese battery grade nickel sulfate hovered at RMB36,500-37,500/t (USD5,309-5,455/t) delivered D/P, down by RMB500/t (USD73/t) from Monday. Considering that consumers constantly hold down prices and the market sees sluggish demand at present, insiders believe that the prevailing prices of Chinese battery grade nickel sulfate would go down in the coming week.
