BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Mar 23 - Chinese dysprosium oxide 99.5%min market remained inactive over the past week. The current Chinese dysprosium oxide 99.5%min mainstream prices went down to RMB1,950-1,970/kg (USD284-286/kg) EXW D/P, a decrease of around RMB10/kg (USD1.5/kg) from one week ago. Insiders forecasted that the Chinese dysprosium oxide 99.5%min mainstream prices still have room to drop in the upcoming week due to weak demand from consumers.
A producer in South China disclosed that he quotes around RMB1,970/kg (USD286/kg) EXW D/P for dysprosium oxide 99.5%min and refuses to accept counteroffer at present, while he didn't consider selling at prices below RMB1,980/kg (USD288/kg) one week ago. "I concluded my latest sale early this month, when I sold one ton at around RMB1,980/kg (USD288/kg)," said the producer, adding that most of his clients have no intention to buy at prices higher than RMB1,950/kg (USD284/kg) from him now. He predicted that the Chinese dysprosium oxide 99.5%min mainstream prices would slide by around RMB20/kg (USD2.9/kg) in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 200t of dysprosium oxide 99.5%min, the producer expects an output of around nine tons in March, without much change MoM. His outputs in 2022 and so far in 2023 recorded approximately 70t and 18t respectively. He holds no stock now, a decline of 20t MoM.
A consumer in South China noted that his regular suppliers lower quotation to about RMB1,970/kg (USD286/kg) EXW D/P for dysprosium oxide 99.5%min to him at present. According to his experience, he could buy at around RMB1,950/kg (USD284/kg) now, while he had difficulty in replenishing stocks at prices below RMB1,980/kg (USD288/kg) one week ago, when he concluded his latest procurement of one ton at five tons at about RMB1,980/kg (USD288/kg). "Taking the sliding prices into consideration, I plan to hold a wait-and-see attitude towards the Chinese dysprosium oxide 99.5%min market in the coming week," said the consumer, who forecasted that the Chinese dysprosium oxide 99.5%min mainstream prices would move down further in the coming week.
