Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices go down

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Mar 23 - Because of customers' slow buying activities and the decrease in steel mills' EXW prices, Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC suppliers cut their prices this week. The present mainstream prices of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS hover at RMB16,800-16,850/t (USD2,444-2,451/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi and RMB16,800-16,850/t (USD2,444-2,451/t) D/P in warehouse Tianjin respectively, both down by RMB200/t (USD29/t) from last Friday. Insiders believe that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would drop by another RMB100/t (USD15/t) in the coming week on weak demand.
A Wuxi-based distributor of 304 grade stainless CRC told Asian Metal that the price of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS stands at RMB16,800/t (USD2,444/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi with no concessions for the time being, down by RMB200/t (USD29/t) compared with that of last Friday. "We also reduced the price by RMB200/t (USD29/t) this week as TTSS decreased the EXW prices of 304 grade stainless CRC by RMB200/t (USD29/t) on March 13th," explained the trader, who complained customers just purchase materials upon orders at the moment and his sales performance is poor. He just sold about 10t on Tuesday at RMB16,800/t (USD2,444/t) and last sold about 10t last Friday at RMB17,000/t (USD2,473/t). The trader has the plan to further cut the price and predicts that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would fall by another RMB100/t (USD15/t) in the coming week dragged by customers' slow purchasing activities.
Based on the regular sales volume of around 3,000tpm, the company sold about 3,000t in February and anticipates a stable sales amount this month. Having an inventory of about 1,000t in hand now, similar to that of last month, they sold around 32,000t in 2022 and about 5,000t in the first two months of this year.

According to him, customers prefer to take cautious attitudes now due to the continuous price decrease these days.
