Haikou to build semiconductor manufacturing cluster worth RMB3.2 billion

On March 9, Shunwei Technology Group entered into an agreement with Haikou Deyue Industrial Development Co., Ltd., a company located in Haikou Integrated Free Trade Zone, to develop a semiconductor manufacturing cluster with total investment estimated at RMB3.2 billion (USD466 million) in Hainan.
The project will consist of production lines for chip scale package inspection, semiconductor devices, electro-optic display devices, 12-inch silicon rod and 300mm wafer, and it is expected to achieve total annul production value of RMB20 billion (USD2.91 billion) within five years after coming on stream.
