BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Mar 23 - Upon the shrinking demand, the current mainstream prices of zirconium oxychloride 36%min Fe 5-8ppm in China slipped by RMB300/t (USD43/t) to RMB17,500-18,000/t (USD2,541-2,614/t) EXW D/P from early last week. Given the weakening demand, insiders predict the mainstream prices of zirconium oxychloride 36%min Fe5-8ppm in China would go down further next week.
A consumer in South China revealed that he bought 100t of zirconium oxychloride 36%min at RMB17,800/t (USD2,585/t) delivered D/P covered the freight of RMB200/t (USD29/t) this week from a supplier who insisted on RMB18,000/t (USD2,614/t) since early last week. "Our consumption still accounts for less than 50% of our full capacity this month dragged by the sluggish demand of our ending products from overseas clients, and some suppliers moved the prices down this week upon the shrinking demand," revealed the consumer on Monday. Given the sluggish demand, he predicts the mainstream prices of zirconium oxychloride 36%min in China would slip further next week.
The consumer, based on an annual consumption capacity of 5,000t of oxychloride 36%min, predicts to use around 200t in March, almost unchanged from last month, keeping around 200t in stock.
