Chinese PrNd mischmetal prices go down

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Mar 23 - Given that most producers lowered their prices today because of the weak demand, the current mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal 99%min, Pr 25±2% max, Nd 75±2% max, Fe 0.3%max, C 0.05%max stand at RMB710,000-720,000/t (USD103,355-104,811/t) EXW D/P, down by RMB25,000/t (USD3,639/t) from late last week. Insiders believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal 99%min would keep going down in the following week as most producers remain pessimistic.
A producer in North China disclosed, "We presently offer RMB720,000/t (USD104,318/t) EXW D/P for PrNd mischmetal 99%min, Pr 25±2% , Nd 75±2% , Fe 0.03% max, C 0.03% max today and could possibly sell at the price as low as RMB716,000/t (USD103,738/t) for orders no less than 5t". The producer lowered their price today because of weak demand. While the producer could not accept the price lower than RMB725,000/t (USD105,042/t) last Friday. They sold about 2t at RMB735,000/t (USD106,491/t) last Thursday. The producer predicts that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal would keep going down in the following week due to the poor demand.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 2,400t of PrNd mischmetal, predicts to produce around 50t in March, in line with February. They have an inventory of nearly 10t at present.
Another producer in Southeast China revealed that their current quotation for PrNd mischmetal 99%min, Pr 25±2% , Nd 75±2% , Fe 0.3%max, C 0.03%max stood at RMB710,000/t (USD102,869/t) EXW D/P and they would probably sell at prices no less than RMB700,000/t (USD101,420/t). They lowered their price from last Friday to promote sales while they refused prices less than RMB715,000/t (USD103,593) then. "We didn't not close any deal today and last sold about 2t at RMB770,000/t (USD111,409/t) 3rd March", the producer mentioned. The producer holds negative attitude towards the market on account of the weak demand and expects that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal would go down further in the following week.
Based on a production capacity of 3,000tpy, the producer estimates to produce nearly 200t this month, almost identical to that in February. They hold an inventory of nearly 30t at the moment.
