Masteel to enlarge CRC output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Mar 23 - As a major CRC producer in East China, Anhui Ma'anshan Iron and Steel Co. (Masteel) plans to produce roughly 190,000t of CRC in March, up from 160,000t in February.
"Supported by increasing orders from our clients, we decided to hike CRC output by around 18.8% MoM to 190,000t in March," said a source from Masteel, adding that the demand for CRC from home appliance and automobile industries picked up slightly this month.
Masteel has three CRC production lines with an annual production capacity of 3.0 million tons. It witnessed an output of around 2.03 million tons in 2022, against roughly 2.28 million tons in 2021. It does not hold stock at present.
In Shanghai, the mainstream price of CRC SPCC 1.0mm*1,250mm*C from Masteel stood at around RMB4,850/t (USD704/t) on Monday, up by RMB20/t (USD3/t) from last Friday. Given rising demand from downstream clients and firm prices of raw materials, CRC prices would edge up further in coming two days.
