BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Mar 23 - The Chinese terbium oxide 99.99%min market witnessed slow buying activities over the past week due to consumers' wait-and-see attitudes. The current Chinese terbium oxide 99.99%min mainstream prices dropped to RMB10,500-10,700/kg (USD1,520-1,549/kg), with a decrease of RMB1,000/kg (USD145/kg) from one week ago. As buyers still purchase inactively, insiders forecasted that the Chinese terbium oxide 99.99%min mainstream prices would go down further in the upcoming week.
A producer in South China revealed that they lower terbium oxide 99.99%min quotation to about RMB11,000/kg (USD1,593/kg) EXW D/P and consider selling at around RMB10,500/kg (USD1,520/kg) at present, while they refused to sell at prices below RMB12,000/kg (USD1,538/kg) one week ago. "We last sold 500kg of terbium oxide 99.99%min at around RMB10,500/kg (USD1,520/kg) late last week," said the producer, who failed to receive any inquiries after their last sale. They have difficulties in concluding deals and have intention to lower prices a bit further. They forecasted that the Chinese terbium oxide 99.99%min mainstream prices would drop by around RMB100/kg (USD14.5/kg) in the forthcoming week.
With an annual production capacity of 24t of terbium oxide 99.99%min, the producer expects an output of around one ton in March, an increase of 300kg MoM. They produced approximately eight tons and two tons respectively in 2022 and so far in 2023. They hold an inventory of around one ton at the moment, an increase of 500kg MoM.
A consumer in South China noted that their regular suppliers lower terbium oxide 99.99%min quotation to about RMB10,700/kg (USD1,549/kg) EXW D/P to them at present. Based on their experience, they could purchase at around RMB10,500/kg (USD1,520/kg) now, while they had difficulties in buying at prices below RMB11,500/kg (USD1,655/kg) one week ago. They concluded their latest procurement in late last week, when he purchased 500kg at around RMB10,000/kg (USD1,448/kg) from a seller, who faced difficulty in getting cash flow.
