Chinese antimony trioxide export prices stable

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Mar 23 - Chinese antimony trioxide export market sees light trading as overseas buyers generally purchase as scheduled amid slack demand from end users. Prevailing export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min stay flat at USD10,800-11,000/t FOB China, unchanged from the middle of this week. Given the firm price of raw material in the domestic market, Chinese exporters held their offers unmoved. However, as the demand remains slack, insiders believe that export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would stay unchanged in the coming week.
An exporter in South China said, "We now offer antimony trioxide 99.5%min at USD11,000/t FOB China, on par with Wednesday, and we do not accept any lower prices for the moment. We just exported about 20t at USD11,000/t this week". The exporter added that overseas buyers remain relatively cautious about purchasing and generally take a wait-and-see attitude due to the sluggish demand from end users, so the export market sees few deals now. They exported about 100t this week, while normally they would export around 200t a week. However, prices of antimony ingot 99.85%min stay firm in China due to the short supply, and they could hardly source the raw material at prices below RMB85,000/t (USD112,198/t). Coupled with the limited stocks held by antimony trioxide plants, the exporter intends to hold offer unmoved and believes that export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would remain stable in the coming week.
With a regular monthly export volume of 600t of antimony trioxide 99.5%min, they expect to export about 450t in March, compared with around 400t in February, and now hold inventory of nearly 500t, the same as a month ago. They exported about 6,500t in total last year.
Another exporter in South China said, "We now quote antimony trioxide 99.5%min at USD11,000/t FOB China and would accept USD10,900/t for firm orders from regular clients, unchanged since the middle of this week when we exported about 10t at USD10,900/t FOB China". They explained that the export market for antimony trioxide moves a bit slowly at the moment as most consumers keep purchasing from hand to mouth. They exported about 40-60t this week, against their regular export volume of around 100t. However, the price of raw material stays firm in Chinese market with a strong wait-and-see sentiment among suppliers. In light of the firm costs, they believe that export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would remain stable on the whole in the coming week.
