Brazilian government delays approving Araxa Metals' environmental protection license

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Mar 23 - Araxa Metals, one of the major heavy rare earth miners in Brazil, failed to get environmental protection license for its Araxa Rare Earth project from Brazilian government as scheduled as Brazilian government delayed approving, according to a company from the company.
"Our government used to disclose to us that we could get the environmental protection license approval for our Araxa Rare Earth project in December 2022, but the government delayed approving and didn't disclose the reason. We failed to get the approach till now," said the source, adding that they keep communicating with Brazilian government in order to get the approval as soon as possible.
Araxa Metals aims to become one of a major heavy rare earth producers outside of China by developing their 100% owned Araxa Rare Earth project in Minas Gerais, Brazil. With inferred mineral resources reach 21 . 9Mt with 4 . 0% of TREO, Araxa Rare Earth project's measured and indicated mineral resources records 6 . 3Mt with 5 . 0% of TREO and owns a mining lift of 40 years.
