BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Mar 23 - Upon the decreasing prices from international suppliers, the current mainstream prices of silicon metal 5-5-3 in Europe edged down by EUR50/t (USD52/t) to EUR2,850-2,950/t (USD3,014-3,120/t) D.D.P from early last week. Given the sluggish demand in Europe, insiders predict the mainstream prices of silicon metal 5-5-3 in Europe would go down further next week.
A trader in West Europe disclosed that his current offer for silicon metal 5-5-3 stands at EUR2,900/t (USD3,067/t) D.D.P with the discount of EUR30/t (USD31/t) at most for firm bids, and he sold 40t at EUR2,870/t (USD3,035/t) on Wednesday, down by EUR30/t (USD31/t) from his prices early last week. "The prices of Chinese silicon metal dropped by USD30-50/t (EUR31-52/t)," revealed the trader on Thursday. He added that most clients keep cautious about the outlook and hang up purchases, and his sales volume in March would cut, and he predicts the mainstream prices of silicon metal 5-5-3 in Europe still have room to edge down next week dragged by the inactive market.
Based on a regular monthly trading volume of 300t of silicon metal, expects to sell around 150t in March, down by about 100t from last month, holding around 100t in stock.
