Chinese flake graphite prices steady

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Mar 23 – Most producers hold the prices stable this week to maintain sales though they have no inventory pressure now. Therefore, the current mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite -194, C 94%min, Volatile 1.2%max stand stable at RMB4,600-4,800/t (USD660-689/t) EXW D/A 180 days from early this month. As most producers intend to stick to their current prices, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite -194 would stay steady in the following week.
A producer in Heilongjiang claimed, "We offer RMB4,700/t (USD674/t) EXW D/A 180 days for flake graphite -194 and accept no more concession since early this week". They last sold around 100t at such price early this month. They intend to keep their price stable as they have few inventories left and believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite -194 would remain stable in the week to come.
With a production capacity of 150,000tpy of flake graphite, they suspended production in December due to the low temperature and expect to resume in early April. Now they have an inventory of around 800t.
"We held our offer for flake graphite -194 unmoved at RMB4,750/t (USD682/t) EXW D/A 180 days with no concession from early this week", said another producer from Heilongjiang. They offered RMB4,800/t (USD689/t) to a client who wanted to buy 200t early this week and they believe they would close the deal at RMB4,750/t (USD682/t) at the end of this week, adding that they last sold about 100t at such price last Monday. The producer intends to keep their prices stable this week to maintain sales and predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite -194 would keep flat in the coming week.
