Handan Steel to enlarge CRC output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Mar 23 - As a major CRC producer in North China, Handan Iron and Steel Co. (Handan Steel), a branch of HBIS, plans to produce almost 135,000t of CRC in April, up from the planned output of 125,000t in March.
"Stimulated by increasing orders from clients, we decided to enlarge CRC output by around 8% MoM to 135,000t in April," said a source from Handan Steel, adding that they could produce about 170,000t of CRC per month when they ran with full capacity. As they did not have enough HRC supply in recent months, they had to cut CRC production.
Handan Steel has two CRC production lines with an annual production capacity of 2.25 million tons. It recorded an output of nearly 1.95 million tons in 2022, down from 2.1 million tons in 2021. Its output totaled almost 240,000t in the first two months of this year.
On Thursday, the mainstream prices of CRC SPCC 1.0mm*1,250mm*C in Chinese major regions stood at RMB4,780-4,880/t (USD687-701/t) D/P, up by RMB20/t (USD3/t) from Wednesday. Upon rising prices of raw materials, CRC prices would go up further in coming two days.
