BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Mar 23 - Supported by the high production cost while dampened by the sluggish demand, the current mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China hover at RMB36,000-36,500/t (USD5,192-5,264/t) delivered D/A 180 days, unchanged from early last week. Insider predict the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would turn soft upon the sluggish demand.
A consumer in Henan disclosed that he bought 20t of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min at RMB36,000/t (USD5,192/t) delivered D/A 180 days on Thursday from a regular supplier who insisted on the same price early last week. "Both of my two regular suppliers hold prices stable this week upon the high prices of zircon sand 66%min, but my consumption would only keep about 30t in March, accounting for about half of his regular consumption YoY, and I predict the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would turn soft dragged by the sluggish demand," revealed the consumer on Thursday.
The consumer, based on an annual consumption capacity of about 800t for fused zirconia, plans to consume 30t in March, unchanged from last month, holding around 20t in stock.
Another consumer in Henan disclosed that he bought 15t of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min at RMB36,500/t (USD5,264/t) delivered D/A 180 days on Wednesday, unchanged from the supplier's price early last week. "I usually purchase 20t every week but only 15-20t every two weeks now upon the shrinking demand of my ending product," revealed the consumer on Thursday. He added that both two biggest suppliers maintain prices stable this week upon the stabilized prices of zircon sand, but he foresees the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would go soft next week dragged by the sluggish demand.
Based on an annual consumption capacity of about 1,000t for fused zirconia, the consumer expects to consume 50t this month, unchanged from last month, keeping around 30t in stock.
