BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Mar 23 - Given more inquiries and high production costs, most Chinese PrNd mischmetal producers regained confidence and expect stable prices within this week
A producer in South China predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal would go steady this week as they received more inquiries today and they believe the demand would start to recover. The producer offered RMB760,000/t (USD109,592/t) for PrNd mischmetal 99%min, Pr 25±2% max, Nd 75±2% max, Fe 0 . 12%max, C 0 . 03%max and sold about 5 at such price today with no more concession. "We quoted RMB750,000/t (USD108,150/t) yesterday and could not consider any lower prices as clients only purchase around 2-5t for single order", the producer revealed, adding that they sold about 100t at RMB880,000/t (USD126,896/t) on February 3rd.
Based on an annual production capacity of 5,000t, the producer plans to produce about 200t in March, in line with last month. They now hold an inventory of nearly 30t.
"We expect that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd mischmetal would stand flat by the end of this week supported by high production cost, so we remained our price unchanged today", said another producer in East China, who offered RMB760,000/t (USD109,592/t) EXW D/P for PrNd mischmetal Fe 0.3%, C 0.03%ppm and they would possibly sell at prices no less than RMB755,000/t (USD108,871/t) today, in line with yesterday. They last sold about 2t at RMB770,000/t (USD111,034/t) last Friday.
The producer, with a production capacity of 3,000tpy, estimates to produce about 200t this month, on par with last month. The producer have about 30t of stocks at the moment.
