BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Mar 23 - Chinese indium ingot 99.995%min market keeps running slowly at present as most downstream consumers refuse to build more stocks with soft demand. Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese indium ingot 99.995%min stand at RMB1,420-1,470/kg (USD205-212/kg) EXW D/P, in line with this Monday. Insiders are of the opinion that the prevailing prices of Chinese indium ingot 99.995%min would stay soft in the coming week due to inactive deals in the spot market.
A South-China-based trader noted that they offer RMB1,480/kg (USD213/kg) EXW D/P for indium ingot 99.995%min presently and could not accept any price below RMB1,460/kg (USD211/kg) EXW D/P for firm bids, unchanged from this Monday, while did not close any deal since early this week. They last sold around 1t at RMB1,480/kg (USD213/kg) EXW D/P at the end of last week and prefer to watch the market with stable price in rest days of this week. The source said, "As we difficult to close any deal since early this week, we hold no confidence about the market and think the mainstream prices of Chinese indium ingot 99.995%min would soften in the following week."
The trader, based on a regular monthly trading volume of 4t of indium ingot 99.995%min, holds around 2t of stocks now, unchanged from the end of last month. They expect to sell around 3t this month and sold about 2t last month. They sold around 50t in 2022 and around 5t so far in 2023.
Another trader in Southern China mentioned that they offer RMB1,500/kg (USD216/kg) EXW D/P for indium ingot 99.995%min at present and could accept RMB1,480/kg (USD213/kg) EXW D/P at the lowest, unchanged from the beginning of this week. They last sold around 150kg at RMB1,450/kg (USD209/kg) EXW D/P late last week and only sold around 150kg last week, while they usually could close around 500kg of deals a week before. "We forecast that the prevailing prices of Chinese indium ingot 99.995%min would soften in the coming week due to inactive deals in the market."
