BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Mar 23 - Encouraged by higher titanium concentrate prices, Chinese titanium slag 74%min suppliers remained optimistic about the market in the past week. The current mainstream prices of Chinese titanium slag 90%min (Ca 0.3%max,Mg 1.0%max) rose to RMB9,500-9,700/t (USD1,372-1,401/t) EXW D/A 180 days, up by RMB100/t (USD14/t) from early last week. As most consumers remain active in sending inquiries, insiders predict that the mainstream prices would increase further in the coming week.
A producer in North China claimed that they remained optimistic about the market encouraged by increased titanium concentrate prices. They offer RMB9,600/t (USD1,386/t) EXW D/A 180 days for titanium slag 90%min (Ca 0.3%max,Mg 1.0%max) and could accept no counteroffers now, while they could accept RMB9,500/t (USD1,372/t) for orders no less than 100t when they quoted RMB9,600/t (USD1,386/t) early last week. "We last sold about 100t at around RMB9,500/t (USD1,372/t) to a regular client early last week," said the producer, who refused another inquiry of 200t at the same price level from a client early this week. As titanium concentrate prices show uptrend, the producer plans to raise their price by around RMB100/t (USD14/t) next week and predicts that the titanium slag mainstream prices would increase by around RMB100/t (USD14/t) in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 50,000t, the producer would produce about 2,000t in March, unchanged from February. They produced nearly 21,600t in 2021 and almost 21,600t in 2022. They hold no stock now, unchanged from last month.
"As most of our clients remain active in sending inquiries, we regain confidence in the market," said another producer in North China, who received three inquiries so far this week, while they received two inquiries last week.
