BEIJING (Asian Metal) 6 Mar 23 - Dragged by the sluggish demand, the current mainstream prices of zirconium oxychloride 36%min Fe2ppm in China moved down by RMB500/t (USD72/t) to RMB18,500-19,000/t (USD2,678-2,751/t) delivered D/A 180 days from early las week. Given the weak demand, insiders predict the mainstream prices of zirconium oxychloride 36%min Fe2ppm in China still have room to go down this week.
A consumer in South China revealed that he bought 60t of zirconium oxychloride 36%min Fe2ppm at RMB18,500/t (USD2,678/t) delivered D/A 180 days covered the freight of around RMB300/t (USD43/t) last Friday from a regular supplier who insisted on RMB19,000/t (USD2,751/t) early last week. "The usually purchase 100t every time but we bought 150t two weeks ago before the price increase, and this time i only bought 60t upon our sufficient stocks," revealed the consumer last Friday. He added that the demand of his ending-product remains sluggish, and he predicts the mainstream prices of zirconium oxychloride 36%min Fe2ppm in China still have room to go down this week.
The consumer, based on an annual consumption capacity of 2,000t of high purity zirconium oxychloride 36%min, predicts to use around 100t in March, almost in line with last month, keeping around 100t in stock.
Another consumer in South China disclosed that he bought 20t of zirconium oxychloride 36%min Fe2ppm at RMB18,700/t (USD2,707/t) delivered covered the freight of RMB200/t (USD29/t) late last week, while the supplier insisted on RMB19,200/t (USD2,780/t) early last week. "Both of my two regular suppliers could give the discount of RMB500/t (USD72/t) to boost sales upon the few deals after they raised prices two weeks ago, and I predict the mainstream prices of the material still have room to go down and I only purchased about one third of our regular amount this time," disclosed the consumer last Friday.
