A trader in South China disclosed, "We presently offer RMB7,000/t (USD1,019/t) EXW D/P for cerium oxide 99.95%min, La 100ppm max, Pr 100ppm max, Nd 100ppm max, Ca 40ppm max, chlorate 100ppm max today and could possibly sell at the price as low as RMB6,200/t (USD903/t) for orders no less than 30t" . The trader maintained their price unchanged from early this week and closed no deal today. They sold about 2t at RMB9,500/t (USD1,376/t) T/T 90 days D/A 180 days yesterday . The trader expects that the mainstream prices of Chinese cerium oxide would stay flat in the following week.
The trader, with an inventory of about 200t at present, totally sold nearly 60t last year. They predict to sell around 5t in March, compared with approximately 2t in February.
A producer in Southwest China revealed that their current quotation for cerium oxide 99.9%min, La 500ppm max, Pr 300ppm max stood at RMB6,000/t (USD873/t) EXW D/P and they would probably sell at the price no less than RMB5,900/t (USD854/t) for orders over 30t and RMB5,800/t (USD840/t) for oders over 100t . They held their price unchanged from yesterday. "We didn't not close any deal this week and last sold about 20t at RMB6,000/t (USD873/t) last Monday . The producer plans to keep their price firm and expect that the mainstream prices of Chinese cerium oxide would stand steady in the coming week.
Based on a production capacity of 480tpy, the producer estimates to produce nearly 36t this month and produced almost 30t in February. They hold an inventory of nearly 100t at the moment.
