100,000tpy lithium salt project breaks ground in Hotan, Xinjiang

The 100,000tpy lithium salt project of Xinjiang Nonferrous Metal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. broke ground on February 26th in Hotan, Xinjiang, marking that the construction of the largest lithium resource mining-dressing-smelting integrated project in the world was launched formally.
It is reported that the 100,000tpy project is part of Xinjiang Nonferrous Metal's 3,000,000tpy rare metal mining-dressing-smelting-production project in Dahongliutan, Hotan. The phase one project has an annual production capacity of 75,000t, including 30,000t of lithium carbonate, 30,000t of lithium hydroxide and 15,000t of lithium chloride, and will raise the annual production capacity to 100,000t in the future. The construction of the phase one project is planned to be completed within this year with the output values expected to reach over RMB40 billion (USD5.80 billion).
