Chinese zinc die-casting alloy market deals become active

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 2 Mar 23 – End consumers of zinc die-casting alloy purchase actively this week, and the market sees more deals. The mainstream prices of zinc die-casting alloy Zamak-3 stood at RMB23,600-23,800/t (USD3,436-3,465/t) EXW in South China market this Wednesday, up by about RMB280/t (USD40.77/t) from Tuesday
A producer in South China mentioned that their downstream customers were active in purchasing in late February, and the daily sales volume reaches about 200t at present, higher than that of about 100t in early February. "On Wednesday, we refused to sell zinc die-casting alloy Zamak-3 at the price below RMB23,610/t (USD3,438/t) EXW, and could accept the price as low as RMB23,330/t (USD3,397/t) EXW on Tuesday. We sold 30t at RMB23,610/t (USD3,438/t) EXW today and 20t at RMB23,330/t (USD3,397/t) EXW on Tuesday", the source said, adding that currently their zinc die-casting alloy orders keep sufficient and consumers build stocks actively, and expects that TCs of Chinese zinc die-casting alloy would remain steady in the following week.
With an annual production capacity of about 120,000t of zinc die-casting alloy, the producer produced around 49,000t in total in 2022. The producer output about 1,500t in January and 5,000t or so in February, holding about 1,200t of zinc alloy stocks presently.
Another producer in South China reported that their orders for zinc die-casting alloy were sufficient at present, about 20% higher than the same period last year, and they reached the state of full production. "We could accept the price of RMB23,600/t (USD3,436/t) EXW this Wednesday and the price as low as RMB23,320/t (USD3,395/t) EXW on Tuesday for zinc die-casting alloy Zamak-3. We made no deal on Wednesday and sold 30t at RMB23,320/t (USD3,395/t) EXW on Tuesday", the source claimed, adding that at present their production capacity could not meet the demand of customers and the zinc die-casting alloy market sees more deals, and predicts that TCs of Chinese zinc die-casting alloy would keep flat in the upcoming week.
With an annual production capacity of 20,000t of zinc die-casting alloy, the producer produced saw an output of around 11,200t in 2022. The producer output about 1,500t in February and expects to produce 1,500t or so in March, holding no stock at the moment.
