BEIJING (Asian Metal) 2 Mar 23 - Even though some suppliers tried to lift offers this week, some buyers could access the same prices as last week dragged by the sluggish demand, and the current mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China stand at RMB36,000-36,500/t (USD5,212-5,284/t) delivered D/A 180 days, unchanged from early last week. Given the weakening demand, insiders predict the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would turn soft next week.
A consumer in Henan revealed that he bought 30t of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min at RMB36,000/t (USD5,212/t) delivered D/A 180 days from a supplier who quoted RMB36,500/t (USD5,284/t) early this week, and the supplier insisted on RMB36,000/t (USD5,212/t) as well early last week. He added that his consumption volume in March actually would decrease against Feb as he didn't get enough new orders of his ending products in February, and he predicts the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min would remain softening next week.
The consumer, based on an annual consumption capacity of about 1,200t for fused zirconia, plans to consume 20t in March, slightly down by around 10t from last month, holding around 10t in stock.
Another consumer in Jiangsu disclosed that he bought 20t of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min at RMB36,300/t (USD5,264/t) delivered D/A 180 days from a supplier who quoted RMB36,500/t (USD5,284/t) early this week, and the supplier didn't step back from RMB36,300/t (USD5,264/t) either early last week. "My consumption recorded only 30t, accounting for around half of my regular level before COVID, and I predict the consumption in March would turn less upon the less downstream orders, and I think the price of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would weaken next week," disclosed the consumer on Wednesday.
